Rabbits: so many this year. I’ve had to ‘rabbit proof’ much of the garden but the other side is watching one rabbit in particular playing with magpies. It’s so cute, chasing and jumping around the magpies. The magpies play back, chasing the little bunny and running from it. Very entertaining to watch.

Sending boxes of tealights off for customer orders, late at night. It’s what you do for your side hustle, out in those extra hours.

Crafty people! That is everyone but me. No skill at all, that’s why I’m just nice to people, to make up for my non-existent craft skills. To be fair, I can cook a mean fruit cake, which sad because not many people like fruit cake these days.

Probably like you, today was so much fun but exhausting! Travel whilst in the middle of clearing a house out isn’t relaxing but it is what it is I guess.

This is what a surprise summer storm looks like. I was planning on helping my neighbour with her market stall at Paynesville this evening but out of nowhere, the weather turned with strong wind and even hail. That was the end of the market - ripped marquee’s, broken and water damaged stock, patience tested. There’ll always be another day.

Watch out for the spitfire caterpillars. It’s that time of year for them, eating eucalyptus leaves before emerging as Sawfly wasps.

Evening living in the Aussie bush. Our small piece of paradise.

Works continuing on the little house (bigger than a tiny house). Carport about to be completed.

Time to move on. House has just gone on the market. The downsizing project is well under way now.

Procrastinating about getting out of bed. Winter is not the most inspiring season for me.

Pikelets never go out of fashion. Particularly when the shops are a long way from home and there is a need for comfort food 😋

Working in Northern Territory for a few days. What. A. Shame 🤭 Ok that was yesterday. Today is full conference mode.

Chicken Parmigiana at the old Broadie Bar tonight. Characters aplenty there.

Tomorrow flying north to Darwin and so looking forward to warmth on the skin and maybe a swim or two. Conference to attend but also a few days downtime. Love Australia and no Covid-19.

On the road again. Another 2 hour trip to Nicholson as part of establishing the our next home.

So much love in the room when these two walked in. Our daughter married her man and we acquired a wonderful son in law. I’m being wistful, realising I’m in my mother’s shoes 40 years ago. How we wish she could have been with us for this beautiful occasion 🌹

This is my favourite way to spend Sundays. Especially today on Mother’s Day with a phone call from our girl and my son bringing a white chocolate mud cake for afternoon tea. Time to make another cuppa (so I can have another piece of cake 😉).

Taking a thermos out with you is not daggy, ok?! I love making my coffee the way I like it. Cafes, despite their Uber cool names, never make coffee how I like it.

The boy came home happy, tired and dirty. Been a while since he spent a few days working as a tradie. He said it is very satisfying to knock something down, clean a site and rebuild a new structure. Good job StevieJ.

Post 1 My husband was handed a redundancy package two months ago. A sad way to end a 30 year devotion to hospital engineering (and in the middle of a pandemic). However, today his lunchbox is packed and he’s heading off for a days work with a builder friend. I’m happy for him.
